Assignment 3 - Proposal
Audience research conclusions
In conclusion of our research, we decided using the information to make our trailer more appealing to the audience which will increase the chances of them watching the film. We were influenced by the results to use an abandoned house and to have ghosts as our antagonist to create our trailer. We also decided to put captions in our trailer since people voted for it.
Genre
The genre that we choose was horror because we found out that it was the most voted for in our questionnaire. We will use the typical horror film conventions like creepy music, paranormal activity and quick cuts. We will also add in some scary shots to get the viewers to feel like they are part of the film/trailer which will make them want to watch the rest of the film.
Content/Structure
Our film will be named The Recurring, we chose this name for our film because the same events occur to everyone who enters the house that is haunted by Alice. We won't be revealing much information in our trailer to get the audience interested in what the fate of the three friends would be. The structure of our trailer will be mostly different jump scares from different parts of the film in a random order so the audience won't know the order of chain of events, which will get them interested in watching the film when released.
Audience
We believe that the most appropriate age for our genre are 15-year-olds and over, due to the graphic scenes we have in our film. Due to the different interests of people, our film is targeted to people from both genders who love watching frightening and graphic scenes. The trailer that we will create will appeal to our target audience because we will including some frightening and graphic scenes that will grab the attention of the audience.
Representation
To make it more appealing to the audience we will be representing the characters as normal people so the audience would feel a connection towards them as if they knew each other, thus we will be using some gender stereotypes to make the audience feel sympathetic to the female characters like when Alice would be kidnapped and murdered; usually woman or in this case a young girl would be kidnapped which shows that she is a weak person who can not defend her self without the help of others. We will be using most of this genre's typical representation like quick cuts, jump scares and the use of blood.
Institution
Our trailer will be distributed on social media outlets and it will be shown as an upcoming film on cinema screens before films of the same category, due to the fact that people are interested in this particular genre; effectively increase the chances of getting a greater amount of audience to watch the film. We will also be releasing a film poster so we would be able to advertise our film on traditional outlets like magazines, newspapers and billboards.

Assignment 3 - Film Trailer Analysis
The hatred is a horror film that was released on the 12th of September 2017. The trailer has a disruption of normality; it; starts of with characters being happy and excited about their weekend, and then 11 seconds in, the mood of the trailer changes it shows a storm starting which indicates that something is going to go wrong in the movie.
This movie is set in the main characters house, which is a typical setting for a horror film. The characters are in the 21st century this is why they are dressed casually. There are many props used in the trailer like dolls, phone, flashlight; these props all link to the horror film genres conventions because, dolls are always associated with paranormal activities and flashlight makes the view of the characters (and camera) limited. The lighting, in the beginning, was bright which sets the mood to be happy, later in the light was minimal which changed the mood of the trailer and made it more mysterious and freaky. The audience will start to feel uncomfortable and scared due to the effects of the quick cuts and scary scenes. The main characters were two sisters one that is probably in her twenties and the other one looks like a ten-year-old child.
The effects that the editing has made were contributing to making the trailer seem more scarier than it would've been. The beginning of the trailer was edited to be normal. When the normality was broken the editor used one of the most noticeable editing techniques of horror films which were quick cuts creating dramatic tension, which affects the audience and make them feel frightened. Furthermore, the music that was used made the audience feel frightened before the scary scenes were viewed, because of the type of music used which sounded like someone was approaching the characters slowly.
The camera work also contributed towards the trailer, it made it more interesting by not stabilising the camera it makes the audience feel as if they are the camera which makes them feel like they are the ones being haunted. The camera also was used to replace the eyes of the character in the cupboard scene, this gave the audience a chance to having a closer look at the freaky dolls from the perspective of the character.

Assignment 2 - Interview
When and how did you first become interested in music?
I became interested in music when I was just five years old. I took classes for singing when I was seven
What are the songs on your album ‘Odd’ about?
All the songs that are in my album are based on real stories that happened to me when I was in school.
What was the song ‘End’ about?
End is about one of my friends that passed a few years ago in a car accident, which made me realise that life is short and at any moment your life can end.
Why did you chose to name your album odd and how does it relate to the photo of the album cover?
I chose odd to be the albums name, because as I told you I had a hard time in school and people thought that I was weird, so I chose the word odd as my albums name. The photo shows a puppet that is surrounded by fluffy bears, which makes the puppet looks odd.
So how did your family support you during your journey?
Wile my mother was supporting me, my father was not so supportive. He used to say that I will fail and that I will not be successful, but after my tour he started to support me more than my mother did so I can fairly say that my family supported me during my journey to fame.
How were you discovered?
Well one day I was sitting outside my school and singing then a man (which is my manager now) passed by and stopped five feet away from me and came back, he commented on my voice being unique and rare. He also told me that I can be famous and gave me his business card. I went back home and I told my mother about what happened, so the next day she called him and got me an appointment with him. Few days later I was asked to come back, he offered me the job.
How did your life change after you started your career?
People now know me so i can’t leave my house without many personal bodyguard. Life is getting harder but i don’t mind it, I now can tack risks that I would never do a few years ago. Im having a lot of fun now with my friends and family, last year was the first time me and my family flew abroad to France it was the best holiday ever. After my first album was released i payed the fees of my sisters education, she is now a doctor. Im so grateful to what happened.
What do you see your self doing in 10 years?
What do you see your self doing in 10 years?
I imagine my self sitting on a couch with three running around and my pregnant wife beside me.
What would you be if you were not a singer?
If I was not a singer, i would probably be a doctor, pilot or an engineer. I always wanted a high salary job.
How did you react when you were first noticed on the streets of LA?
It actually happened five minutes after my first song was released, I was walking my casual walk from the studio to my flat, when five kids stoped me and took a selfie with me. It was a bit acquired and uncomfortable, but after my twentieth time meeting a fan, it became something normal and easy to do. It made me feel comfortable meeting new people for the first time, which I hated to do.
What advice do you have for your audience?
Life is short, and your life is valuable. You can make a difference by following your dreams. Do not let anyone tell you that you will not make it to the top. Believe in your self and live life, because you are worth it.

Assignment 2 - Album cover
The album cover shows a puppet surrounded by teddy bears, which shows that the puppet is the odd one out. This also suggests that the puppet is different therefor he is lonely, which also tells the audience that the album is going to be about being lonely and different. People these days find individuals who are different to be annoying and weird, and they consider them to be 'not normal'. This album aims to change peoples point of view and make them more open minded.
